At By Malene Birger, we want to retain our relationship with our woman far beyond seasons. That’s why our autumn-winter 2018 campaign sees us keep to trusted collaborators. Photographer Casper Sejersen returns to lense the images, bringing his distinctive graphic aesthetic to our bold and confident images. A regular contributor with magazines including Dazed & Confused and Dust magazine, Casper’s modern and unique vision makes him an ideal choice for our Creative Director Mathilde Torp-Mader.

Model Maggie Maurer, who we worked with for spring-summer 2018, is now something of a muse. Originally from upstate New York, Maggie grew up riding dirt bikes. Modelling since 2013, she is now based in London, and has worked with the most respected fashion creatives this year including Sølve Sundsbø and Mel Bles. Maggie’s grown-up and natural beauty, not to mention her independent spirit, is the kind that embodies our brand - one that makes sure it is the woman wearing the clothes not the other way round.

The result of this collaboration is a series of striking, almost cinematic, images that show Maggie in our autumn-winter collection, as if on a silver screen. It’s a mood that helps convey the season’s inspirations - everything from thirties evening wear to the graphic shapes of sixties skiwear - in a way that feels both decadent and wearable, two key values for By Malene Birger. Outerwear comes with statement as standard, as in our monochrome Tulana coat, while accessories like our May silver boots are worthy of their own platform. This is a collection - and a season - about designs to elevate. The hope is that every By Malene Birger woman can, just like Maggie Maurer, be the star of their own movie.
